My ability to navigate and thrive in a multi-cultural environment makes me an effective collaborator, enabler, and facilitator to achieve desired goals.

Results-Based Project Support & Management

As a Project Management Professional (PMP) with 16+ years’ experience, and having worked in consulting, non-profit, and government, I bring full-cycle project experience.

With experience in USA, Canada, Guyana, and Myanmar, I am particularly apt at working in a cross/multi-cultural environment, able to assess needs, and engage with teams and stakeholders to build trust and accomplish project objectives.

Support includes:

  • Project development, planning & management
  • Scope & change management
  • Scheduling
  • Budget and cost management
  • Contract & Procurement
  • Team management
  • Communications
  • Risk & quality management
  • Reporting

Grant Writing

As a detailed-oriented person, and having written many donor proposals, I will assess your needs and craft a proposal that is relevant, practical, measurable, achievable, and timely.

A good proposal helps achieve the organization’s vision and goals as well as meeting the beneficiary stakeholder needs for the long-term.

Typical structure may include:

  • Introduction
  • Project purpose, description, context, and need
  • Beneficiaries
  • Interventions / actions – activities, outputs, outcomes, and impacts
  • Methodology
  • Sustainability of action
  • Organizational & partner capacity and experience
  • Timeline / schedule
  • Budget
  • Logical framework; project plan
  • Risks and impacts

Research & Writing

With a solid interdisciplinary background in sustainability, environment, conservation, cultural heritage, geography, tourism, business, and diverse field experience, I bring a holistic approach to research and writing.

Through research, collaboration, facilitation, and data collection, I will translate your vision, goals, and short and long-term objectives into effective plans.

Plans that support decision-making and action may include:

  • Management and strategic plans
  • Conservation plans
  • Tourism and business plans
  • Community development plans
  • Community and tourism mapping
  • Best practices
  • Health and safety plans
  • Operations and field guides and manuals

Monitoring & Evaluation

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a necessary and important tool for project and program sustainability. M&E helps to understand project progress, resource use, results, milestones, and impact. It also enables learning and adaptive management efforts.

Bringing my experience in donor funded projects, and through collaboration and consultation with internal teams, I can help design, prepare, and assess:

  • logical frameworks with practical, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely measures
  • M&E plans
  • Periodic and end-of-project project evaluations

By taking an agile and adaptive approach to projects, it is possible to identify strengths, opportunities, shortcomings, and challenges. This enables teams to respond quickly and modify plans and processes accordingly.

Capacity Strengthening & Training

Sustainability and continuity is at the core of my project approach. I combine my experiences from the classroom, boardroom, workshops, and field work to support institutional, staff, and community capacity strengthening and training.

My approach is to mentor, coach, and train through a hands-on / learn-by-doing experience to ensure participants feel confident to pursue future tasks and activities on their own.

I have facilitated capacity strengthening through workshops, seminars, and mentorship in project planning and management, grant writing, environmental management, natural and cultural heritage conservation, tourism, and governance.

Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder engagement is critical for project buy-in, design, development, implementation success, and long-term sustainability of initiatives. Effective stakeholder engagement ensures beneficiary needs and priorities are carefully assessed and met.

Stakeholder engagement contributes to better relationships, communication, transparency, and risk management. It ensures their needs translate into organizational goals and strategies.

I have worked and engaged with various stakeholders including academic, non-profit, government, urban and rural communities, and indigenous peoples through workshops, group meetings, and one-on-one interactions.
